The process begins by confirming the applicable tire specifications and discussing the driver's use and needs. A suitable tire is then mounted and balanced, with fitment and installation checked for the vehicle. If the original concern is uneven wear or a handling change, that condition may require its own assessment rather than being attributed to the new tire.
| Finding after assessment | Possible work | Decision note |
|---|---|---|
| A tire is confirmed worn or damaged beyond an appropriate repair and a compatible replacement is selected. | Install the suitable replacement by mounting and balancing it, then verify fitment. | Replacement quantity and matching considerations depend on the vehicle, tire condition, and applicable requirements. |
| The existing tire is not an appropriate specification for the vehicle. | Confirm the correct fitment and install a tire that meets the vehicle's requirements. | The correct size and load or speed specifications should be verified from vehicle information rather than guessed. |
| A new tire is installed but the driver also reports a pull, vibration, or unusual wear. | Check installation and wheel/tire condition, then assess alignment, balance, or other causes as indicated. | A new tire alone may not resolve a concern caused by a wheel, suspension, or alignment issue. |
